Roger McAfee Jr

Roger McAfee Jr, 52, of Lancaster, OH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Roger was born May 27, 1972, to Roger Lee Sr and Roseann (Childers) McAfee. 

Roger graduated from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology to start a career in welding. He worked as a welder through numerous companies but also had a pressure-washing business which he loved. While in school, he enjoyed participating in football, basketball, and baseball. He loved fishing, hunting, bicycling, and motocross racing. Roger’s favorite activity was spending time with his family, especially his children, Nicholas and Raleigh, and his grandsons, Levi and Ivan.

Roger is survived by his parents, Roger Lee Sr and Roseann (Childers) McAfee; sister, Jessica McAfee; brother, Brody McAfee; half-brother, Steve McAfee; children, Raleigh and Nicholas McAfee; grandchildren, Levi and Ivan Chapman; niece, Hannah McAfee; uncles, Roger, Bill, Steve, Clinton and Thomas Childers and Mike McAfee; aunts, Nancy Turner, Christina Hart, and Barb Murphy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Childers and Betty Ludwick.

The celebration of Roger’s homecoming to the Lord will be on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at noon in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 405 N. Columbus Street, Lancaster OH. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 am to the time of the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lancaster. 

Roger fought a long hard battle with liver disease and kidney failure but passed peacefully to go home with the Lord.
