Robert “Bob” E. Boling, 81, of Lancaster, passed away at OSU Wexner Medical Center on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born to Harold and Juanita Boling in Nelsonville, Ohio on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1942.
Bob was a Marine Corps veteran and he served in the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Boling Antiques in Lancaster with his wife Linda. He held auctions in South Eastern Ohio and across the country. He also loved patriotic history and all kinds of cars; you give a brief description of the car and he would be able to name it. He was very comfortable in his green pick up truck. Bob was known as a great storyteller and quite a unique individual and, also a “star” to his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Linda; children, Kelly (Dwayne) Shaffer and Stacey (David) Slatton; grandchildren, Justin (Christine) Polt, Kristen Shaffer, Amelia and Evie Slatton; great-grandchildren, Roman and Kennedy Polt; niece and nephew, Christina Messinger and Matthew Ruark; sister in law, Candace Geshwilm, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Juanita; infant brother, Walter Rodney, and grandmother, Nellie Dupler Wilson.
A graveside service will be held Friday, October 20th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Green Lawn Cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio. Friends and family may visit at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home in Lancaster, Ohio on Thursday, October 19th, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
