Robert "Bob" Waits

Robert Lee Bob Waits, 61, of Lancaster journeyed peacefully from this life into the arms of Christ after a brave battle with cancer on Monday, October 8, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born on October 24, 1950, to the late John Raymond and Denise Jeanne (Jassogne) Waits.
Bob graduated from Ohio State University, where he was certified as a Pharmacist in 1974 and served the Lancaster Community while working for Risch Drug Stores until his retirement in 2011. Bob believed if you have been blessed you should bless others by giving back. Many lives have been touched by his generosity, kindness and sharing, both personally and professionally.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Alice Waits; his best friend and brother Roy Jack (Sandi) Waits; sister Brenda Apple; stepdaughter, Stephanie Bray, stepson, James (Susie) Nicolia; step grandchildren, Ashley Nicolia, Rachel Bray, and Kory Nicolia ; step-great granddaughter My Baby Girl Aurora Nicolia, who loved her Poppy; nieces Tisha (Todd) Leupold and Wendy (Craig) Harroun; nephew Brady Waits; grandniece Addison Harroun; grandnephew Nicholas Harroun; special step niece and care giver Penny (Rich) Malik; many wonderful friends and his beloved cat, Mookie.
In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Apple.
Bobs family wants to express a special Thank You to Dr. Singh and FairHoPe Hospice for their care and kindness through this journey.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Matthew Richardson officiating. Burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
