Robert "Zeke" Valentine

Robert “Zeke” Valentine, age 90, of Lancaster died Friday, July 5th, 2013 at Main St. Terrace Car Center. He was born in Lancaster on Saturday, May 5th, 1923 to his parents, Robert and Hettie Stroll Valentine. He was a 1942 Graduate of Berne Union. He was a Machinist at Rockwell Industries for over 35 years helping create innovative parts for aircraft. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sugar Grove. Zeke was a caring family man who was always helping others and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth Valentine of Lancaster; daughters, Marcella (Dave) Lape, Linda (Jim) Notestine, and Sherry (Mike) Johnson all of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Vic (Paula Decker) Lape, Robert (Maryann) Lape, Karie (Ryan) Grogg, Mike (CeCe) Peters, Doug Peters, Tracy Holtel, and Craig (Traci) Notestine; nine great grandchildren, Zach, Jacob, and Hailey Lape, Brandin Peters, Andrea Newsome, Kayla Peters, Sky Holtel, Steven Peters and Jacob Schwalbach; and two great great grandchild, Ashton Campbell and Chase May; sisters, Dorothy Ellinger and Mary Lane; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Edna Mae Binckley and Ruth Harden, and granddaughter Karynn Lape.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 9th, at 11AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7120 Sponagle Rd. Sugar Grove, OH 43155, officiated by Rev. Danny R. Koch. Burial will follow a committal service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM Monday at the FRANK E SMITH FUNERAL HOME and one hour prior to the service at the church, Tuesday.
