Robert Claire Taylor celebrated his 100th Birthday with family in June. On November 5th, he passed away quietly at Fairhope Hospice with family at his side. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years, Pauline (Polly) Joan (Kenney) Taylor, his mother Caroline Gertrude (Wasmer) Taylor, stepfather Bill Short, 1/2 brother Ray Wasmer, granddaughter Roberta Michelle Sulick, and two great grandchildren, Michelle Rose Lint, and Angel Lint. He is survived by his four children, Patricia Joan (Taylor) Sulick, Carol Ann Taylor Lint (Jim), Robert William Taylor (Mindi), and Susan Kay (Taylor) Thompson. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He served in the US Navy and Reserves from August 1942 until Retirement in June 1981. He was a Columbus Police Officer from June 1951 until retirement in January 1984, achieving the rank of Captain. He held a lifetime membership in the Fraternal Order of Police, The American Legion, and he was a 75 year member of Canal Winchester Masonic Lodge #670.
He and Polly loved to travel, camp and square dance. He will greatly missed but we will rejoice in knowing that he is in Heaven with our Lord and has reunited with Polly for all eternity.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Cardiac Unit of Children's Hospital in loving memory of Roberta Michelle Sulick.
Calling hours are at 9:30 am on Friday, November 19th with the funeral service at 10:30 am at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore, OH.
