Robert “Bob” E. Shaeffer 73 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Primrose of Lancaster Assisted Living Facility.
He was born on November 29, 1938 to the late Charles Shaeffer and Anna C. Stebelton Shaeffer Bighum on Hamburg Rd., Fairfield County.
He was a foreman at Mid-West fabricating and retired from Bent and Bolt as a supervisor of maintenance. He loved fishing and music.
HE is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Lou Shaeffer; 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brothers, James (Karen) Shaeffer of Lancaster, Ohio and Willie (Tammy) Bigham of Amanda, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and his Primrose family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Joe and Raymond Shaeffer and nephew, James Shaeffer, Jr.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Chaplain Mark Pierce officiating. Caring Cremation to follow the service. Friends may visit Saturday from 1-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
