Robert Miesse

Robert L. Miesse, 78, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 11, 2018. He was born May 29, 1940 in Fairfield County to the late Joseph and Margret (Hooker) Miesse. Robert was retired from Anchor Hocking after 38 years. He also had worked and volunteered at Fairfield Medical Center. He was a past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and had enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing poker, and catching up with his classmates from St. Mary’s High School.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda (Lambert) Miesse; children, Lisa (Kelly) Clark, Lacee (Phil) King, both of Lancaster and son-in- law, Mike Young of Williamstown, WV; sister-in-law, Cindy Baker of Lancaster; grandchildren, Kendra (Matt) Murdock, Joey (Sarah) Clark, Brittany and Ashley Young, McKenzy and Corey King; great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Kerrick , Logan, Layla, and Norah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Baker of Lancaster and daughter, Laura Young of Williamstown, WV.

A cremation has been handled with care by Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. A memorial gathering will take place Wednesday, October 17, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. No services will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FairHoPe Hospice or the American Cancer Society in his name.
