Robert Lee Hyde Bob, 80, of Lancaster, passed away at Rockmill Rehabilitation Center on the morning of May 28th, 2013.
Robert was born on December 10, 1932, to the late Richard L. and Miriam Ione Hyde. Bob served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955. Robert was retired from Anchor Hocking having 45 years of service.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Jill Hyde; and their five children, Jackie L. Hyde of Galloway, Tommy L. Hyde of Lancaster, Bryan K. (Shelley) Hyde of Lancaster, James (Sue-Ling) Hyde of California, and Melissa A. Hyde of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, David (Annie) Hyde of Arizona; and an honorary niece, Belinda (Richard) McCarty of London, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Hyde; sister, Sally Thornton; and nieces, Christy Carpenter and Marsha Wilkins
Friends and family are invited to join the family at V.F.W. Post 1516, 116 Perry St, Lancaster, Ohio, from 4-6 p.m. Sunday June 2, 2013, for a memorial service. Bob will be cremated with the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday at Oakthorpe Cemetery, 6090 Oakthorpe Rd, Thornville, Ohio, 43076 with Reverend James Hall officiating and veterans burial rites by the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail.
