Robert Oscar Evans 76 of Baltimore, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 9, 1935, to the late Oscar A. and Kathleen Harris Evans. He was a 1953 graduate of Liberty Union High School and attended Ohio University on a basketball scholarship. He worked many years in the family business, Evans Furniture and retired from Ohio Valley Flooring in 1994.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force Reserves and a member of Baltimore VFW Post 3761, Pine Island Community Church in St. James City, Florida.
He is survived by his children, Cindee (Jerry) Tolliver of Cape Coral, Florida, Cheri Evans of Baltimore, Ohio and Robert Evans II of Lancaster, Ohio; ex-wife, Julie Evans of Ft. Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Dalton, Tanner and Whitney Evans all of Lancaster, Ohio; sisters, JoAnne (Francis) George of Baltimore, Ohio, Joyce (Ralph) Davis of Galena, Ohio, and Jackie (Chick) McCafferty of Baltimore, Ohio; brother-in-law, Jack Miller of Michigan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special niece Susie (Ace) Baily.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jeanine Miller, nephews, Phillip and David Miller and Chad Welch.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the Baltimore VFW Post 3761 and friends may visit 1 hour prior the service at the VFW. Burial will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg, Ohio at a later date.
