Robert Boyer

Robert E. Boyer, 80, of Lancaster, died on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at McCafferty Adult Care. Robert was born April 16, 1933, in Lancaster to the late Harry and Carrie Boyer.

Robert graduated from Rushcreek Memorial High School in 1952 and married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Seifert, on June 10, 1954. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Maple Street United Methodist Church and attended the Christian Home Builders Sunday School Class. Robert was a tool and die maker for many years and enjoyed bowling, golf, and was especially proud of his small plane pilot’s license.

Robert is survived by his wife, Ruth I. Boyer; children, Robert A. Boyer, Rebecca S. Baughman, Ronald L. Boyer, and Kathi Boyer; grandchildren, Sarah Baughman, Jeremy Baughman, Cory Boyer, Dustin Boyer, and Emily (Rick) Pajevic; brother, Richard L. (Bertha) Boyer; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Helen and Gene Haffey, Margaret and Richard Shumaker, Franklin and Terry Seifert, Shelley Seifert, and Richard Seifert; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Aileen Fox; and brother-in-law, Perl Seifert.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Frank E. Smith
Funeral Home, Lancaster with Reverend Phyllis Fetzer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenfield Township Cemetery, Carroll with Veterans Rites performed by the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
