Robert Jay Bope, age 51, of Rushville, passed away on Sunday October 16th, 2016 at his home. He was born in Lancaster, OH on January 13th, 1965 to his parents William J. Bope and Mae J. Bope.
He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church where he was an active member of the church choir. He worked for Ralston Foods, Green Gourmet, and Archer Daniels Midland as a food safety manager, and was a well-known member of the Lancaster community. He enjoyed fishing, trips to Canada, the county fair, working outside, watching Cleveland sports, and spending time with family.
Rob is survived by his loving children; Courtney Rostorfer, husband David Rostorfer, Jr. and Colin Bope; brother Bill Bope; sister Julie Stanley; and fiancée Janine Centorbi.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Holly Elaine Bope.
A service will take place on Friday October 21st at 10:30AM at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Lancaster officiated by Diane Schwiger-Alexander AIM. Burial will follow the service at West Rushville Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME from 2PM til 4PM and 6PM until 8PM and one hour prior to the service at the church.
