Robert E. Bibler, age 89, of Baltimore died Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at the Fairfield Medical Center. He retired from the former Crown-Zellerbach Corp., Baltimore; was a charter member of the Baltimore Lions Club; longtime member of the Trinity United Church of Christ; the Baltimore Masonic Lodge 475 F&AM; Tarhe Shrine; Columbus Aladdin Temple; A.A.R.P.; and enjoyed bowling in leagues. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Baltimore VFW Post 3761. He was also a graduate of Liberty-Union High School class of 1940.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Berniece Bibler; daughter, Karen K. Ruble and friend, Bob Bair, Baltimore; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Ruth Ann Bibler, Baltimore; 4 grandchildren, Brian (Debbie) Bibler, Baltimore, Mia (T.J.) Martin, Lancaster, Melissa (Warren) Roberts, Lancaster, and Brett (Mary) Bibler, Olathe, Kansas; 9 great grandchildren, Justin King, Kaylee King, Anthony Bibler, Eric Bibler, Curtis Milam, Seth Roberts, Ian Matthew Roberts, Austin Bibler and Allison Bibler; and sister-in-law, Violet Bibler, Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Lela Bibler and brothers, Raymond and Edison Bibler.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore with Rev. Jill Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens where the Baltimore VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Trinity United Church of Christ, 105 N High St, Baltimore, Ohio 43105, in memory of Bob.
