Robert “Bob” Baker, age 86 of Lancaster, died January 23rd, 2016 at the Pickering House. He was born on March 26th, 1929 in Mansfield. Bob served his country in the Marines, during the Korean War. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for 30+ years and was a past Scout Master. He helped start troop 240 at St. Peters Lutheran Church. Bob was an honorary member of the Lancaster Kiwanis Club, as he volunteered for 40 plus years always helping out with the annual Kiwanis Pancake Festival. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Bob worked for 44 years at Anchor Hocking as a mould maker, where he was known for riding his bike every day to and from work, no matter the weather conditions. After Bob retired, he began pursuing his full time status as grandfather and Jack of all trades. Bob could fix anything. He will be greatly missed by the community, friends, and family.

Bob is survived by his children; Bruce B. (Carol Kearney) Baker, Mark S. (Robin Williams) Baker, Carolyn A. (Edward) Readman, Scott R. (Renee Wagner) Baker; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue Fisher and Judy (Steve) Sims; brother, Richard (Joan) Baker; sister-in-law, Marilyn Tipton; and Aunt, Patricia Johnson.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, of 64 years, Bernadine “Bernie” Baker; bros-in-law, Phil Fisher and John Griffith; sister-in-law, Georgia Griffith; mother-in-law, Florence Griffith.

CARING CREMATION™ has taken place through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Jan. 30th, 2016 at 10:30AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Emil H. Klatt III. The Lancaster Veteran’s burial detail will have a committal service following the service at Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call on the family on Friday from 4PM until 7PM at the funeral home and one hour prior at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 105 E. Mulberry St. Lancaster, OH 43130. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com
