Rita Joan Sater, age 85 of Lancaster, passed away on May 23rd, 2018 at Crestview Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Lancaster on Dec. 29, 1932 to the late George and Eva Thomas Marshall. She was a Pleasantville High School 1950 graduate. She was a member of the 6th Ave. United Methodist Church. She owned and operated Sater Telephone Answering and Tax Service for 35+ years. Rita was an avid gardener, who also enjoyed camping at Ohio Power Lakes, trips to Myrtle Beach, and the Amish Country.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, David A. Sater; daughter, Candace (Phillip) Stringer; son, Mark (Toni) Sater; daughter-in-law, Cindy Sater; grandchildren, Matthew Sater, Drew (Lillian) Sater, great-grandchildren, Carsyn, Keaton, Bryce, and Alyson; sister, Betty (Joe) Lee; many nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephew, Barbara Sater and Beverly (William) Dempsey.
Rita was preceded in death by her son, David W. Sater; parents; sisters, Garnet Lynn and Helen Trogus; brother, Waldo Marshall; brothers-in-law, Harold Sater, Earnest Lynn, Robert Trogus, and John Dutro; sisters-in-law, Alice Marshall, Lillian Dutro, and Maxine Sater; and nephews, Buddy Lynn and Roger Sater.
The family extends many thanks and appreciations to the staff at Crestview Rehab and Skilled Nursing, Eckert Wing, Unit #2, and especially to Amber, Beth, Kim, Tammi, Chelsea, Brittany, Katie, Milinda, Cheryl, Jamie, Rodney, and so many others that remain nameless. These angels will remain as a cherished part of our hearts for the care they showed our mother.
Caring Cremation© has taken place. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Rick Jones, will take place on Saturday, May 26th at 1:30PM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME.
