Rita J. Russell 61 of Millersport, Ohio passed away, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at her residence. She was a Mother, Sister, Friend, Loving and generous, caring and kind lady.
Rita is survived by her five children, Stacy Swaney, Angela Sparks, Bryan Swaney, Michael Swaney, and Julie (Troy) Queen; grandchildren, Cameron Roberts, Madison Sparks, Kaleb Swaney, Aiden and Wyatt Queen; brothers, Alex (Kathy) Wilhelmsen, III and Robert (JoAnn) Wilhelmsen; sister, Sonja (Rex) Oliver; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, Alexander Wilhelmsen, Jr. and Marlene Justus.
She was a friend to many, always there to help someone in their time of need. It gave her great joy to give because she wanted to see others happy. Music was very much a part of Rita’s life as the song goes; she was a “Free Bird”. She was a member of the Columbus Dammenchoir. During her life, Rita was a nurse and was devoted to healing others.
Rita is now at peace with her husband, Ron Russell, who died tragically and too young. This prior loss caused profound grief and her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now with him.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105 with Mr. Joseph Messana conducting the service. Burial to follow in Millersport Cemetery. Friends may visit Saturday from 11-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
