Rita T. "Peggy" Chapin

Rita T. “Peggy” Chapin, age 97, of Lancaster, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on November 6th, 2013 at Rockmill Nursing Facility. She was born on April 22, 1916 in Montgomery, VA to her parents Harrison and Nellie Gutshawl Eagle. She worked at Western Electric and retired from Colonial Heights Furniture. She was baptized into Christ on May 7th, 1964 at the Whitehall Church of Christ. At the time of her death, she was a faithful member of the Lancaster Church of Christ.
She is survived by her sister Violet Simmons and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Glen P. Hevenor and Lewis A. Chapin; parents; sisters, Villa Rexrode and Mary Conner; and brothers, Merle, Junior, and Jarrett Eagle.
A service will take place on Saturday at 1:30PM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Minister Don Deuschle. Family and friends may call from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 on Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made in Peggy’s name to the Lancaster Church of Christ 1779 Granville Pike Lancaster, OH 43130.
