Richard E. Cooper Jr

Rich "Coop" Cooper, age 58, of Logan, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022 at home, surrounded by his loved ones and puppies.

Rich was born April 1, 1964.  He retired from J.C. Penney after 31 years, and also worked for Rocky Brands.

Rich was a dedicated family man.  He loved every minute of being Megan's Dad and Rilee’s Pops.  Anything we wanted or needed he did his best to make it happen.  Coop was also a very good son and friend.  Coop never knew a stranger.   Pops loved to teach Rilee to shoot and hunt just like he did Megan.  They are forever the loves and treasures of his life. Rich also liked to garden, fish and ride atv's, but mostly enjoyed sitting on the front porch with us.  One thing he was hoping to see was  Megan marrying Jacob in December.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Brenda Cooper;  Daughter, Megan Cooper (Jacob Vorhees); Granddaughter, Rilee Vorhees; Mother, Laura Arnett; Brother, Ronald Cooper; Sisters, Melanie (Rick) Hacker, Rockbridge, and Angela (Bob) Benham, Logan; brothers-and-sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his Dad, Richard Cooper Sr; and Grandparents.

A funeral service will take place at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 10 AM. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and again from 6-8 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Nephew Brady Hacker and lifelong friend James VanFossen will be conducting the funeral service, and Rilee will be reading a book to Pops. Graveside services at Laurel Cemetery, Gibisonville, Oh.  A meal will follow, graciously provided by Logan Church of the Nazarene.  Special thanks to Fairhope Hospice and the Dr.'s and nurses at the James who worked tirelessly to help Rich.
