Richard Homer Roshon, passed away Monday June 27th, 2016 at the age of 88. He had been living in Dublin at Our Family Home, previously he lived as a farmer outside of Baltimore, OH and also Sarasota, FL.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy; his parents, Homer and Elsie Roshon; three brothers, Robert, Harvey and Emerson; and a great grandson, Brighton; five sisters-in-law, and 2 brothers-in-law.
Richard is survived by his three daughters, Linda (Steve) Forster of Reynoldsburg, Becky (Ron) Loar of Baltimore, and Sheri (Mark) Smith of Pickerington;grandchildren, Matthew (Thersa) Forster, Elizabeth (Sean) McCormick, Sarah (Rich) Vogt, Anne (Jason) Watson, Richie (Kylie) Trimmer, Ben Smith and Amy Smith;Great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Jonathan, Lily, Pax, Skye, and Jensen; two sisters, Ruth Farley of Franklin, NC and Donna Jean (Bill) Lowry of Sarasota, FL.; brother-in-law, Jack Compton of Grand Island, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, was a life long member of the New Zion Church, had been a member of Pickerington, Sr. Center, and served as School Crossing Guard with the Sarasota FL Police Dept. Many people of the Reynoldsburg area will remember him as the "Egg Man", because for 25 plus yrs. he brought fresh farm eggs directly to their refrigerators.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff and care takers at "Our Family Home" in Dublin. Also to all the nurses from Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care they took of Dad.
A funeral service will take place on Sunday July 3rd at 3:30PM at New Zion United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Union Evangelical Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Saturday at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore from 2PM until 5PM. In leiu of flowers donations can be made to either Vitas Hospice 655 Metro Pl.
