Richard (Richie) Sanford Lundell (41) lost his battle with cancer and joined his sister, Cassie and his grandparents in heaven during the wee hours of December28th, 2016. Richie was born December 21st, 1975 in Twenty-nine Palms, California. He graduated from Lancaster High School and attended Ohio University at the Lancaster campus. He had a zest for life and lived it on his own terms. He loved to skateboard in his younger years, and was instrumental in designing and having the skate park built at Miller Park. While battling cancer, he completed the Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program for the State of Ohio. He was a passionate Red Sox, Stealers, and Buckeyes football fan. He was a gifted artist and created many pencil sketches that he shared with family and friends. He is survived by his two children Isaac and Sara, parents Richard and Barbara, three sisters Heidi Lundell, Kitsie (Chris) O’Neill, and Stevie Lundell. A causal remembrance and celebration of Richie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, 405 North Columbus Street, Lancaster, Ohio for all of Richie’s family and friends.
