Richard Jones

Richard (Rich) O. Jones, age 62, of Baltimore, passed away July 14th, 2014. Rich was born on June 27th, 1952 in Columbus to his parents, Ned and Betsy Friedrichs Jones. He was a retired fire fighter from Columbus Fire Department with 25 years of service. He was also an Honor Guard member and C.O.A.F.F.A. member. Rich was a man of many talents. He loved old cars and he never met a stranger.
He was a 1970 graduate from Reynoldsburg High School. Rich was also a member of Fairfield Christian Church, North Campus.
Rich is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Angie (Ron) Jones, Hollie (Lance) Benedetto; son, Randy (Sheri) Jones; stepdaughter, Heather (John) Hamric; 9 grandchildren; brother Edward Jones; sister Leslie (Edmund) Jones; sister-in-law, Joyce (Rodger) Miller; brothers-in-law, Carl (Edith) Thomas, Ralph (Linda) Thomas, David (Pat) Thomas, Dan (Paula) Thomas; nieces and nephews; long time friend Artie Rookard; garage Buddies; many friends; and special buddy, Willie.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents; and mother-in-law, Alice Thomas.
A funeral service will take place on Monday at 10:30AM at Fairfield Christian Church North Campus with Pastor Leonard Tippie officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Rose Cemetery in Lancaster with the Fireman Honor Guard.
