Richard "Rich" Hess

Richard Alan Hess, age 70 passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Born July 2, 1946 in Massillon, OH, Rich was preceded in death by parents James McLain Hess and Marion Young Hess, both of Massillon.

Rich was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and went on to receive his bachelor degree from Arizona State University.

Throughout the past 30 years, Rich was a real estate broker and later focused on owning and managing popular Columbus restaurants and bars.

Of his favorite things to do, being in the outdoors and hunting was his favorite. Rich was an avid deer and bear hunter and he especially cherished this time with great friends. A wrestler at Valley Forge and at Arizona State, Rich loved running and exercise as part of his outdoor experience.

Rich is survived by his three sons, a wife, step-daughter and three brothers James, John, Mark Hess.
