Hammack
Richard Keith Hammack 80 of Lancaster, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2013. He was born on January 23, 1933 to the late John E. Hammack and Mabel H. (Ford) Hammack.
He was a graduate of Lancaster High School, a member of the United Brethren Church and a life member of the American Flint Glass Workers Union 576. He was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the D.A.V., VFW Post 1516 and a former member of the F.O.E. Aries 2120.
Richard was a hard-working man his entire life, always putting the needs of his family and others before himself. He had the most contagious, fun-loving spirit; always making people laugh. He loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, hunting, gardening and the many camping trips to Burr Oak State Park.
Richard is survived by his four children, Ricky A. (Laura) Hammack; daughters, Jill L. (Jon) Hardwick, Kimberly J. (Robert) Thimmes and Stacy A. (Robert) Shoemaker; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; brother, Robert Hammack; two nephews and former spouse, Lee Ann Scott.
HE was preceded in death by his loving parents, and granddaughter, Kaylee Ann Hardwick. This great man will be truly missed!
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Harold Sturm officiating. Burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
