Richard E. "Dick" Pickering

Richard Eugene “Dick” Pickering, 86, of Lancaster, passed away on September 23, 2023. He was born to the late Floyd and Rose Pickering on February 5, 1937 in Lancaster.

Dick was a great father, husband, and friend who was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He was also a proud member of the Local 18 Ohio Operating Engineers.

He is survived by is wife, Pat Pickering; children, Jeff Pickering, Chris Wildermuth, Debbie (Paul) Purtiman, and Dereke Lee Pickering; grandchildren, Joshua Wildermuth, Amber (Brian) Holt, and Curt (Joanne) Purtiman; great grandchildren, Brianna, Madison, Brayden Holt; and Amelia Purtiman; siblings, Betty Bartholomew, Jackie (Don) Nunley; Jim (Penny) Pickering, and Joe (Debbie) Pickering; an many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by is son; Tony Allen Pickering; and parents.

A funeral service conducted by Curt Radabaugh will take place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 12:30 PM in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130. Burial will follow in Maple Grove, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 10:30 AM until the time of services on Wednesday.
