Richard E. Cochenour, 69, of Thurston, died at his home surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren, after a long battle with cancer.
Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always had an amazing sense of humour. He was a former meat cutter at Bob Bay & Sons, he helped his father run the Pleasantville IGA, and he started his own business in RECO in 1983. Richard also was an ordained minister for 40 years.
Richard is survived by his wife, Vickie Cochenour; children, Mike and Amy Cochenour, Robin and Jim Schmelzer, Tonya and Charles Schneider, Brian and Annia Knight, Marilee and Gary Schmelzer Jr., Trent and Nikki Cochenour, and Rebecca Cochenour (Kenny Stephens); sister and brother-in-law, Marilee and Richard Stretton; several aunts and uncles; 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and special friend, Greg Williams.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Annabelle Cochenour.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm Monday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Caring Cremation will follow the services.
