Richard Boris

Richard L. Boris, 79, of Lancaster, passed away on October 31, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a member of the American Legion, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and Anglers’ Paradise. In Richard enjoyed hunting, shooting, and photography and was an outdoors enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Boris; children, Brad (Vanessa) Boris, Kim (Kenneth) Niggemeyer, and Brenda Stanley; grandchildren, Brian, Nick, Melissa, Dana, Joe, and Zach; great-grandson, Levi Niggemeyer.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Peter Boris and Margaret Fitzgerald; step-father, James Fitzgerald; son-in-law Dave Stanley; and step-sister, Karen Rose Fitzgerald.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home located at 405 N. Columbus St in Lancaster with Chaplain Kermit Welty officiating. Richard will be laid to rest following the service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Lancaster. Friends and family may visit from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
