Richard Benedict of Baltimore, Ohio died peacefully on November 28th in the home he built over 52 years ago.
Richard was born on September 13th, 1940 near Drakes, Perry County, Ohio to Joseph and Pauline (Marolt) Benedict. He graduated from Corning High School and was a graduate (summa cum laude) from The Ohio State University. He was a retired teacher from Bloom Carroll High School. In addition to teaching, he built over 100 houses in Fairfield county.
He is survived by wife of 63 years, Agnes (Dodson), son Richard (Jeannette) Benedict, daughter Teresa (Jeff) Kennebeck, grandsons Michael and Ryan (Alli) Kennebeck, step-grandchildren, Bryan(Ashley) Chea, Kamara Chea, and Nathan Meadows, many step great-grandchildren, sister Linda Benedict, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joe Benedict.
Richard loved his family, talking politics, playing euchre, and smoking cigars.
A graveside service followed by interment will take place on Saturday, Dec 14th, 2024 at 11AM at Oakwood Cemetery near Corning, Ohio.
