Richard R. Babcock, Sr., 91, of Lancaster, died on Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Pickering House.
He was retired from Life of Virginia, a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, a life member of the American Legion, a Kiwanian, and an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Richard is survived by his wife, Rebecca Babcock; daughter, Linda (Bruce) Tipton of Florida; sons, Richard (Kriss) Babcock, Jr. of Lancaster, Charles Babcock of New York, and John (Tanya) Babcock of Columbus; grandchildren, Amity (Jack) Lynch, Jeremy Tipton, and Ashley (Aaron) Baker; great grandchildren, E.J. and Oliver Lynch brothers, Charles Babcock and Dan (Nancy) Babcock; and sisters, Francelia Hamlin and Barbara Dunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mildred Babcock; and brothers, David Babcock and James Babcock.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11th at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 134 N. Broad St, Lancaster, Ohio with Reverend William Pursley officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church undercroft. Caring Cremation through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster and private burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be given to St. John’s Episcopal Church or to a charity of choice.
