Rev. Erladean Heffner

Reverend Erladean Heffner, 87, of Baltimore, Ohio, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 8, 2012.
Erladean was born on July 31, 1924, in Fairfield Co., Ohio to her parents Earl and Harriet McBee. In high school she exerted her contagious energy as a cheerleader. She studied dairy science and received her associate degree in animal husbandry at OSU before answering her call to serve the Lord. This calling ultimately led her to the role of pastor of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Lancaster in January 1965 through her death.
Erladean was wildly in love with Christ Jesus, and she faithfully served those around her, constantly spreading His love and truth. With a passion for Christ and an intense love for her family, Erladean dedicated her life to loving, living and laughing. Her strength and confidence in the Truth sparked the
fire of salvation for many of her family and friends. Her life was a beautiful, inspiring, strong story of faith and compassion.
Her door was always open, her heart always full. She cherished quiet mornings with the Lord and enjoyed gardening, Mickey Mouse collectibles, Buckeye football, keeping up with the latest technology, and making beautiful baskets.
Her death is preceded by that of her late husband, Virgil Heffner, who passed away August 18, 1992.
Survivors include a sisterEllen McDaniel; three children: Rev. Dr. Dennis Heffner and his wife Dee Dee of Espanola, NM,
Tina Rogers and her husband Ron of Clovis, NM, and Marilyn Oravec of Baltimore, OH; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; as well as the congregation of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
While the absence of her presence on this earth leaves us with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing she is joyfully worshipping Christ Almighty, interceding on our behalf, and awaiting reconciliation with us in eternity.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11AM at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME in
Baltimore, officiated by Rev. Chuck Imhoff. Burial will follow at Basil Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM. Memorials can be made in Rev. Erladean's name to the Hopewell United Methodist Church 2552 Clearcreek Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130.
