Rebecca Jeffery

Rebecca Lay Jeffery, age 89 of Baltimore, passed away Sept 21st, 2018 at the Fairfield Medical Center. She was born to the late Ernest and Ethel Leach Lay on March 28th, 1929 in Lamesa, TX. She retired as a dietitian at Logan Hospital. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Rebecca is survived by her children, Nora L. Jeffery, Donald N. Jr., James S.(Barb Bechtel), Jay B. (Linda); grandchildren, Tyler, Justin (Lindsay), Jenna (Ashley) Davis, Veronica, Valerie, DJ (Ashlee), and Michael; great grandchildren, McKenna, Mattox, and Emmet; brother-in-law, William Martinez; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Major Donald Neal Jeffery USAF Retired; brothers, Weldon Lay and Bill Lay; and sisters, Earnestine "Tene" Flowers and Pauline "Polly" Burgess.

Caring Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will take place at 7PM, on Tuesday October 9th, at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME. Family and friends may call from 5PM until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorials can be made to Central Ohio Hospice or a Charity of your choice.
