Raymonda "Randy" Vogel

Raymonda M. “Randy’ Vogel, 87, of Gahanna, Ohio, born on June 2, 1929 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.

“Randy” as she was affectionately known by the many people’s lives that she touched was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Richard L. Vogel and her parents, Raymond and Kate DeLong of Lancaster, Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Vogel were both born and raised in Lancaster, Ohio.

Randy was a long time member of the Heart of Ohio Tole (HOOT) painting group and was quite an accomplished artist in her own right, specializing in Santa figurines and many other lovely “Tole Painted objects.

She was a nature enthusiast who loved bird watching, butterflies and all creatures great and small. She enjoyed being at home in her flower gardens and relished all the colors of the seasons thru her various plantings.

Over her lifetime, she loved working with and training all of her 8 Dachshunds which she raised from puppies.

Mr. and Mrs. Vogel are members of and attended St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Gahanna, Ohio.

A private funeral service will be held in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor Steve Brown officiating. Interment will be in Forest Rose Cemetery in Lancaster, Ohio.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Faith Mission Inc., 245 N. Grant Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43215, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4456 Morse Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43230 or the Salvation Army.
