Raymond “Tom” Wells, 75, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016.
Tom was a member of the Lancaster United Brethren Church. He worked for 18 years at Anchor Hocking before moving to Florida.
Tom loved football. He enjoyed coaching Pee Wee football for many years. He was a big fan of Ohio State University Buckeyes football. He helped establish and served on the board of the Outback Bowl for several years. Tom was also a past president of the Sports Club of Tampa Bay.
Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Wells; son, Mark (Patty) Wells of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Keith Wells, Todd Wells, and Kyle Wells; great grandchild, Melissa Cruze; sister, Shirley Schaller; mother-in-law, Betty Glaze; and daughter-in-law, Joanna Wells.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond “Todd” and Kathleen Wells; son, Michael Wells; brother, James Wells; and sister, Connie Wells.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Lancaster United Brethren Church, 1125 Pleasantville Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Pastor Greg Voight officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Amanda Township Cemetery. Caring Cremation through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home.
