Raymond "Ray" Leiendecker

Raymond “Ray” G. Leiendecker, age 67, passed away at Mt. Carmel West Hospital surrounded by his family on Friday, October 5, 2018. He was born on December 28, 1950 in Lancaster, OH to Raymond and Dorothy Leiendecker, He was a graduate of Pickerington High School in 1970.

Raymond worked as a blacktop sealer and heavy equipment operator for most of his life. Since retiring Ray has worked at the Kroger Fuel Center in Pickerington, OH.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Leiendecker of Baltimore. His wife of 26 years Debra Thompson Leiendecker of Baltimore, 3 children Angi (Mike) Landis of Baltimore, Stephanie Tidwell of Nunnely, TN, Raymond “Butch” Leiendecker of Baltimore. Stepchildren Tiffany (Matt) Schnorf of Galloway, and Danny (Tori) Howell of Baltimore . 7 grandchildren Devin (Tim) Saunders, Jeremy (Julia) Rardin, Emily (Dylan ) Clark, Brendon Landis, Tori Russell, Savannah Howell and Jude Howell. 3 great grandchildren Raelynn Saunders, Avery Clark and Grace Clark. Brother Jim (Robin) Leiendecker, Sister Peggy Leiendecker. Brother in Laws Butch (Robin) Thompson, Kenny (Randy Nelson) Thompson, Richard (Stephanie) Thompson and several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved fur babies Bentley, Crosby and Bijou.

He is preceded in death by his grandson Raymond “BJ” Leiendecker Jr., father Raymond “Pete” Leiendecker and first wife Vickie Green Leiendecker.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 9th at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Gahanna, 520 Havens Corner Rd. Gahanna, OH 43230 Caring Cremation™ will follow the service. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore, OH on Monday, October 8th from 3-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Amy's Army through Fairfield County Foundation in his memory. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com.
