Ray Riencheld

October 14, 1940 — March 19, 2014

Ray E. Riencheld, 73, of Baltimore, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 19, 2014.

Ray was a graduate of Stoutsville High School. He was a member of the Thurston United Methodist Church. He worked for many years as a painter and retired with over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator. Ray loved tinkering with engines and was a top-notch welder. He was a great athlete and excelled at just about any sport he tried, especially basketball, baseball, and bowling. Ray was also a great teacher, always willing to share his knowledge or skills with others. He was a regular at Weidner’s Corner for many years. Ray was a loving father and grandfather who was always there with help and advice or to attend his granddaughter’s sporting events.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Risha (Tom) Wagner and Randa Gallagher; and granddaughter, Mikaela Rae Wagner.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Mae Riencheld; parents, Harold and Pauline Riencheld, and brother, Carl Riencheld.

Funeral service for Ray will be held at 10:30 am Monday at the Thurston United Methodist Church, 2015 Main St NE, Thurston, Ohio 43157 with Reverend Dr. Rebeka Maples and Reverend Alice Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Sunday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 207 S Main St, Baltimore, Ohio 43105.

Donations can be made in memory of Ray to the Thurston United Methodist Church.
