RAY GREIN

Raymond G. Grein, age 85, of Lancaster, died Tuesday, October 25th, 2011 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Founder and former owner of General Machine and Mould, a WWII Navy Veteran, member of the Elks Lodge #570, American Legion Post 11, Knights of Columbus, former President of Lancaster High Athletic Boosters, a member of Olivedale Senior Center, on the Lancaster Park Board, and the Ohio LST/Amphibs Association.
He is survived by his daughter, Jane Levacy (Doug) Snider, Somerset; sons, Tom (Becky) Grein, Dallas, TX, Bill (Karen) Grein, Fredericksburg, VA, and0 Jack (Marilyn) Grein, Lancaster; grandchildren, Paula (Eric) Grein, Molly (Greg) Watson, Tamara (Rob) Bartek, Jennifer Laine, Joshua (Bettina) Grein, Wendee (Bob) Lester, Mary Grein and Adam Grein; nine great grandchildren; sister, Jane Young, Lancaster; brother, Dick Grein of Lancaster; current owner and operator of General Machine and Mould, Terry Devault; many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eileen Robinette Grein, November 2009; parents, Richard and Florence Grein; sisters, Marty (John) Mallon, and Mary “Mog” Perry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at Noon at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, officiated by Father Thomas Kessler. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery following Mass, where the Lancaster Veteran Burial Detail will have a veteran committal service. Family and friends may call at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8PM. Memorials can be made in Raymond’s name to the Make a Wish Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
