Randy B. Johnston

Randy B. Johnston, age 59, of Gahanna, Ohio, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on June 4, 2024. He was born on August 3, 1964 and was a 1982 graduate of Lancaster High School. He graduated from Ohio University in 1986 with a degree in Business Administration/Accounting. He was a business systems analyst for Optum Workers’ Comp and Auto No-Fault finance team for 22 years. Randy was a car enthusiast, an avid reader and regularly walked at Blendon Woods as part of his healthy lifestyle. He enjoyed watching OSU men’s volleyball, participated in bowling leagues and a sand volleyball league. Randy was quiet, thoughtful, kind, generous and always ready to help others.

He is survived by his parents Wayne Johnston and Diane (Jim) Grover, step-siblings Shelley Phillips and Jamie Grover and their families, uncle Jack (Cindy) Miller, aunt Beckie Johnston and many cousins. Randy was blessed to have many treasured friends and his beloved dog, Honey.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jesse and Jennie Johnston and Betty Miller, aunts Marjorie Miskell, Anna Mae Eberly, Helen Johnston, Penny Eddy and Jackie Lou Miller, uncles Carl Johnston, Jerry Johnston and Dewey Miller.

Caring cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
