R. Nelson Hicks III

R. Nelson Hicks III, 65, of Pickerington, passed away on the evening of January 18th, 2025 at the Fairhope Hospice Pickering House. He was born to R. Nelson Hicks Jr and Judy Ann (White) Hicks. He married Carla Sue Nixon on November 8th, 1986. 

Nelson enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing poker with his buddies in the condo community. He loved anything Philadephia when it came to sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

Nelson is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carla Hicks; children, Angela (Lance) Earliwine, Elizabeth (James) Beams, and Lestie (Donny) Seelig; grandchildren, Evryn, Eli, Carly, Lauren and Noah; siblings, Judy Montgomery, Jim (Jo) Hicks, Bob (Suzanne) Hicks, and Chris (Stacy) Hicks; mother, Judy Ann Hicks as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Nelson is preceded in death by his father, R. Nelson Hicks Jr; sister, Cathy Buntoff, and brother-in-law, Lee Montgomery.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, at noon at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lancaster. 

Memorial contributions can be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio, or a charity of your choice.
