R. Wayne Hewitt

Wayne Hewitt, age 80 of Lancaster, died on April 13th, 2016 at Crestview Rehabilitation. He was born to the late Leonard and Mary Ellis Hewitt in Lancaster on Nov. 11th, 1935. He owned Margo Tool along with his late brother Keith Hewitt. Wayne was a past member of Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed cars, bird watching, fishing, camping, and gardening. Most importantly, Wayne was a family man who was always there for them, who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Norma Jean Hewitt; children, Saundra (Roger) Collins, Fritz Hewitt, George Hewitt, Dee Dee (Rodney) Swingle, and Michael Hewitt; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret Hewitt; several nieces and nephews; and four-legged friend, Toby.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Keith Hewitt; and sister, Saundra Hewitt.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 10AM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, officiated by Chaplain Kermit Welty. Burial will follow the service at Forest Rose Cemetery.
