R. Elaine (Rife) Asher, 57 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away at her home early on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 after fighting a hard, long battle against kidney and heart disease.
Elaine was born on December 29, 1957 in Lancaster, Ohio to Richard and Jean Rife. She graduated from Lancaster High School. She worked for Culligan’s Water for many years until her declining health would not allow it. She was married to John Asher for 24 years who cared for her with much love and devotion during her illness.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Chainie (Jennifer) Anderson and Dustin (Nikki) Anderson; grandchildren, Allison, Nathan, Ben, Emmy, Taylor, Ryan and Ethan; mother, Jean Rife all of Lancaster, Ohio; step-daughter, Chrissy Dismore; step-grandchildren, Blade and Destiny all of Nashville, TN; sisters, Shana (Maurice) Lewis of Anderson, IN, Sherriee (Rick) Vincent of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Tracie (John) Butcher of Kona, Hawaii and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Rife and nephew, Brandon Butcher.
There will be no calling hours or service observed at the family’s request. Caring Cremation® will be handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.
