Polly A. Rice

Polly A. Rice, 69, of Lancaster, passed away on January 9, 2025 at the Pickering House. She was born to the late Lloyd Sr. and Gwen Dwyer on January 30, 1955. Polly was tough in spirit, and a dedicated mother and grandmother, loving her family dearly. She also loved word searches and picture puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, John P. Rice Sr.; all her children, John P. Rice Jr., James P. (Amber Herrington) Rice, Patricia Lynn Rice Waddell, Christopher M. Rice, Ashley Marie Rice, and Anthony D. Rice; grandchildren, Dylan Waddell, Jakob Waddell, Chase Brown, Scarlett Rice, Carter Rice, Dominik Rice and Finley Rice; great granddaughter, Ellie Waddell; siblings, Lloyd Dwyer Jr., Deb Thornton, and Becky (Buck) Chapman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Jacob Paul Rice; sister, Peg Dwyer; brother, Steve Dwyer; and parents.

A funeral service officiated by Chaplain Mark Linn will take place at 12 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025 in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 PM and again from 6-8 PM at the funeral home on Thursday, and from 10 AM until the time of the service on Friday.
