Phillip G. Fisher, 78, ended his long battle with multiple myeloma on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the FairHope Hospice in Lancaster, Ohio. He was born on October 29, 1936 to the late John and Lela Fisher of Lancaster.
Phil never met a stranger. He was a very loving, fun, and caring husband, father, and friend to anyone who was fortunate enough to make his acquaintance. In his younger days, Phil was a member of the Air National Guard and was stationed in France. He retired from RCA and was an active member in the First United Methodist Church.
He married his wife, Sue, on May 29, 1963 and would have celebrated their 52nd anniversary this year.
Phil is survived by his wife, Sue Fisher; children, Cathie Fisher and John Fisher; brother, Robert (Irene) Fisher; nieces, Jeannine (Dave) Abshier and Jody (Kim) Chaney and family; brother-in-law, Robert Baker; nieces and nephews, Bruce (Carol) Baker and family, Mark (Robin) Baker and family, Scott (Renee) Baker and family, and Carolyn (Edward) Readman and family; brother-in-law, Kenneth Richard (Joan) Baker; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Lisa) Baker and family, Joni (Mark Dowdy) Baker, and Sheryl Baker; Sister-in-law, Judy (Steve) Sims; nephews, Todd (Tracy) Sims and family, and Jeff (Cheong-ah) Sims and family.
The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 8 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church located at 163 E. Wheeling St. in Lancaster with Pastor Robert McDowell officiating. Caring Cremation® has taken place with the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be given to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at 383 Main Ave. 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851, the James Cancer Hospital at 300 W. 10th Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43201, and to FairHope Hospice at 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
