Philip Staney, Jr. 84 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was a World War II US Army veteran and a retired area line supervisor for South Central Power. He was a member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ohio Council of Skin Scuba Divers. He loved golfing, fishing and hunting.
Philip is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mabel Smokie Staney; son, Paul M. (Joan Oats) Staney of Oregon; grandchildren, Halley, Nathan and Kyle; great grandchild, Jonah; 4 step-sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Ella Staney, Sr.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. John Davidson officiating. Caring Cremation has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
