Philip “Dink” Cassley III 67 former resident of Lancaster and a current resident of the Muskingum Residential Home of Zanesville passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 3:25 p.m. at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born on September 25, 1944 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Philip R. and Estella Martha Lytle Cassley, Jr.
He was a former member of the Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church and a long resident of Lancaster and Zanesville.
Dink is survived by his brother, Randy (Christina) Cassley of Zanesville, Ohio; sister, Gaye Lynn (Tom) Schankweiler of Broomfield, Colorado; nieces, Cass Cassely (Adam) Sprag of Zanesville, Ohio and Robyn (Ollie) Birgisson of Berlington, Vermont; nephews, Tom (Donna) Schankweiler of Westminster, Maryland, Scott (Dawn) Schankweiler of Thornton, Colorado and Jason (Susan) Redman of Apache Junction, Arizona; several great nieces, great nephews and special friends of Muskingum Residential Homes of Zanesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, uncle, John “Burt” Lytle and aunt Norma Cassley Unks.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Rose Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
