Pete Henderson

Floyd R. Henderson Jr., age 57 of Pleasantville, died at his residence surrounded by his loving family on May 22nd, 2014. Pete was a hero in his battle with lung cancer. He was born in Lancaster, on March 21, 1957 to his parents, Floyd R. and Betty E. Swick Henderson. Pete loved the Lord, and was a member of Life Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who enjoyed the outdoors and loved his family even more. He worked hard for his family as a carpenter foreman at Messer Construction.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Henderson of Pleasantville; children, Alisha (Bob) Hosler of Circleville, Tanya (Coby) Abner of Lancaster, Dink (Kristin) Castle of Buckeye Lake, and Ben (Molly) Castle of Pleasantville; grandchildren, Brian, Caleb, Grace, Cameron, Keadyn, Makenna, and Gavin; siblings, Mick (Jim) Shumaker, Lou (Jeff) Brown, Jason Henderson, Barb (Matt) Huston, and Steve (Sheila) Gordon; and several nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 10:30am at Life Church 5550 Lancaster Newark Rd. Pleasantville, officiated by Pastor Ron Grubb. Burial will follow the service at West Rushville Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5PM until 7PM on Monday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME.
