Paul E. Poling, age 92 of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Pickering House. He was born September 9, 1928 in Junction City, Ohio to the late J. Glenn and Zema (Love) Poling. He was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was retired from Western Electric (Lucent Technologies).
Paul loved playing golf and was proud to say that he had a hole in one at the Estate Golf Club. He enjoyed his daily exercise routine and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rita Poling; daughter, Kathy (Doug) Beck; granddaughter, Danielle Ross; great-grandchildren, Alexis Downer and Aesa Dennison; sister, Eileen Ackerson; step-children, Jenny (Dan) Miller, Kathy Queen, Doug (Linda) Jones and Laura (Bob) Mong and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Marla Poling, daughter, Cheryl Poling, parents, siblings, Walter Poling, Donald Poling, Vera Woods and Twila Conrad; and step-daughter, Rebecca Childers.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO. The family wishes to thank the staff of FairHoPe Hospice and Pickering House for their love and care of Paul.
