Paul E. Aurand 84 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital.
He was born on February 8, 1928 near New Straitsville, Ohio to the late Frank Earnest Aurand and Alta Johnson Aurand.
He was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the US Army as a Sergeant. He was retired from Diamond Power and Specialty Company as a Contract Administrator and a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, all Lancaster Masonic Bodies and American Legion Post #11.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Sue (Lindy) Jackson of Lancaster, Ohio; step-daughters, Jan (Mike) Oglesbee of Tennessee and Delena (Ken) Davis of Baltimore, Ohio; grandson, Jonathan (Fiancé Nicole Zann) Jackson; step-grandchildren, Chad (Tammy McClung) Jones, Ben (Shelley) Jones, DeAnne (William) Beyer and Eric Davis; sister, Margaret Gorby of Waverly, Ohio; brother, George (Janice) Aurand of Logan, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents at the Inn at Fairfield Village for their care and friendship with Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Blanche Romans Aurand, first wife, Peggy Ringhiser Aurand, second wife, Zella Mundy Aurand, sisters, Anna Mae Aurand, Helen Stiverson, Ruth Iles Owings and Betty Blair and brother, James Aurand.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Quay officiating. Caring Cremation has taken place and burial to take place at a later date in New Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, Ohio. Friends may visit today, November 1, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
