Patricia "Pat" Pennington

Patricia “Pat” Pennington, 81, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born to the late Leo and Marvine (Huffman) Baus on Thursday, March 11, 1943. 

Pat was a bus driver in Lancaster for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning different food items including tomatoes, peaches, banana bread, and zucchini bread. She also loved to read and was a big NCIS fan. She would often watch NASCAR races with her daughter Terri, cheering on Dale Earnhardt, Jr. 

Pat is survived by her children, Kim (David) Lane, Mindy (Brian) Beattie, Terri Pennington, Barry (Jocelyn) Pennington, and Mark (Alisha) Pennington; step-son, Herb Pennington; grandchildren, Sydney (Jaden) Rutter, Leo (Brenna) Pennington, Zachary and Jessie Adams, and Dalton Stumbo; great-grandchildren, Huntley, Paisley, and Oakley Rutter; siblings, John Baus and Carol Hulkenberg; special friend, Verylene Summers, and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Marvine Baus; grandson, Richard Downhour; step-sons, Edward and Doug Pennington, and siblings, Richard Baus and Mary Jo Bush. 

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at noon at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster Ohio.
