LANCASTER: Patricia G. Navin passed peacefully from this life surrounded by family at her home in Lancaster. Her spirit, joy and encouraging nature live in all who met her.

Pat was born in Edmonton, Alberta, September 12, 1953, and preceded in death by her father, Dr. Michael Gibney and sister-in-law, Rhonda Gibney.

Survived by husband, Brett A. Navin; daughter, Rachel M.L.Brady; son, G.M.G. "Duke" Brady; mother, Gwenfil Gibney of Fallbrook, CA; brothers, David Gibney of Boise, ID, Mark Ginny) Gibney of Canandaiaqua, NY, Joel (Jaycee) Gibney of Davis CA, Brien Gibney of Washington, DC; sister, Shauna (Jeff) Fawcett of Schenectady, NY; many nieces and nephews.

Last employed by the Fairfield County Department of Health as Director of Community Health Development; past president Ohio Chapter of Society for Professional Health Educators; past chairman Safe Routes to school; past board member of United Way Review Board FairHOPE Hospice; Safe Communities/Safe Kids; Action for Healthy Kids; Governor's Office for Women's initiatives and Outreach; The Lancaster Cause; West After School Center-Healthy Living for Kids. Member of Prevention Works for a Drug FreeFairfield County, Fairfield County Colorectal Committee, Fairfield Heritage Trail Association, Tobacco Prevention Coalition, Safe and Drug Free Schools Consortium, Prevention Works, Teen Institute, Lancaster Community Church. Pat led classes on women's health, yoga, pilates, and fitness, Laughter the Best Medicine in the Workplace, a Cancer Support Group at Lancaster Community Church, Bible studies, and more. She was involved in many other community organization and groups.

Per Pat's request, a memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Dove, Flagstaff AZ, for family members.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Fairfield County Foundation, 162 E. Main St., Lancaster OH 43130, for education, recreation and spiritual programs.

Caring cremation has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home 405 N Columbus St. ,Lancaster OH, 43130.
