On September 12, 2018, at approximately 11:45 a.m., My SWEET, SWEET mother, Patricia Ann Johnson, entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I can only imagine, after having been without her sight for so many years, her amazement as she opened her eyes to see the face of Jesus. After that, there was no doubt, there was great rejoicing and celebration as she reconnected to those gone before her.
It is one thing to love and raise the biological children that God, blesses you with. It is quite another to choose to adopt and raise children, in need of a loving home and she did that with love and care.
She was known in the community as “Aunt Patty”. To her children, she was just “mom” and loved us beyond belief. Always teaching, showing, encouraging and loving us along life’s path. She should the world what true love meant when she cared for her own mother until her mother’s death, helped others, prayed for the sick and sent cards. One of life’s greatest joys was the many days and hours she spent with her grandchildren.
In the summer, she could be found tending her garden, picking strawberries and tomatoes. Over the years she was quietly involved with many ministries at the Fifth Avenue Church of Christ and a Charter Member of the Fairfield Church of Christ. She loved to sew, cook, bake and made the “world’s best” soups. Patricia was born to Russell D. Moore and Beatrice Moore on April 12, 1927.
She in her later years Patty and George owned the Lancaster Green house and Flowers Shops.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Deborah Johnson (Gary) Hatch; son, Chris Johnson; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas (Heather) Hatch, Issac (Tiffany)Hatch, Samuel (Sarah) Hatch, Hannah Hatch and Sarah Johnson; 8 great grandchildren, Lily, Kaela, Grace, Garrett, Ethan, Hazel, Jedidiah, and Amelia; sisters-in-law, Patricia Johnson and Vivian Stump; multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George Johnson, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dewey and Emily Johnson, sisters, Mary Margaret Hoffman, Florence Mae Griffith, brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Helen) Moore and Augustus “Gus” Moore, niece and her spouse, Bernadine and Robert Baker.
A special thank you goes to her great nephew, Scott baker, MD, her personal family physician, for his care over the years.
