She is survived by her husband, of 55 years, John of Lancaster; children, H. Michael (Jill) and Steven (Cindy), grandchildren, Spencer, Harrison, Alec, Amelia and Anna Gilmore; mother, Olive Woodyard of Bickford Assisted living; sister, Betsy Fridley of Salt Springs, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
The Gilmore Family wishes to thank the employees and volunteers of FairHoPe Hospice and the staff of the Bickford Assisted Living and Memory Care for the loving care they gave Pat.
Pat was preceded in death by her father, O. Wayne Woodyard and sister, Marty Woodyard Smith.
She was a 52 year member of the First Presbyterian Church, a deacon and later ordained as an elder. Pat also served in various leadership positions in the church among which she was chairwoman of the 2000 Capital Campaign. She was a former member of the Fairfield Medical Center Board of Directors, active in Lancaster Arts and Civic Clubs, OSU Alumni Association, Hospital Twig 17 and a 4-H Leader.
Pat served as Director of Fairfield Metropolitan Housing Authority for 20 years and taught at East Elementary School early in her career. She was a 1963 Cum Laude graduate from The Ohio State University and a 50 plus year member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Friends may visit Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Caring Cremation® has taken place. A private graveside will be held at Forest Rose Cemetery with Dr. Richard Riedel officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Patricia Woodyard Gilmore Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o the Fairfield County Foundation, 162 E. Main St., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
