Patricia A. Gerken, born on July 13, 1948, in Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on January 20, 2025, at Fairfield Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. A proud graduate of Liberty Union in 1966, Patricia was a spirited and career-driven woman who devoted several years of her life to the Fairfield Medical Center, where she made significant contributions working in the administrative offices. Her commitment to her career was commendable, and she was beloved by colleagues and friends alike for her tireless efforts and compassionate nature.
Patricia was a woman of unwavering faith in God and Jesus Christ, dedicating her life to serving The Lord and spreading hope. Her journey took her far beyond her church and community, including a meaningful visit to Haiti, where she worked to strengthen others’ relationships with God. Her mission was both local and global, leaving a legacy of compassion and spiritual devotion.
Patricia had a love for travel and embraced the beauty of the world. Yet, it was her family who meant the most to her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Patricia was part Cherokee, a heritage she embraced with pride, honoring her lineage and instilling that pride in her family. Her bond with her son Dale was particularly remarkable; together, they weathered the storms of life, always finding strength in each other. She was a loving mother and Dale was her anchor, and her admiration for his vibrant personality and infectious wit highlighted the integral part he played in her life. She was so very thankful and proud of the man he had become, a true reflection of her unwavering love.
Patricia’s relationships flourished not only with her immediate family but also extended to her niece, Tammy Black and stepson, Tracy Lindsey whom she shared a special bond.
In the last months of her life, Patricia found immense joy in being surrounded by her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. She cherished playing with her grandsons and found peace in sitting outside, soaking in the quiet beauty of nature. Prayer was a daily ritual for Patricia, a source of strength and serenity that guided her every day.
She is now united in spirit with her parents, Logan Davis and Delores Maxson Boggs, and her sister, Laura Davis, whom she loved dearly.
Patricia is survived by her beloved son Dale Lindsey; daughter-in-law Brittany Silverman; grandchildren Ezra and Avi Silverman-Lindsey; great-grandchildren Kingsley and Alicia Carpenter; along with Charlie Gerken, all held a special place in her heart.
As Patricia’s family and friends gather to celebrate her remarkable life, we remember a woman who kindness, love, and commitment to her faith and family resonated within everyone she touched. With heavy hearts yet grateful spirits, we honor Patricia A. Gerken-a devoted mother, grandmother and friend whose legacy will forever remain etched in our memories and hearts.
